How to make $10,000 a year with a drone
Drone sales have jumped 70% in the past year, according to a survey by analytics firm eMarketer.
The company’s survey showed that the market for drones for aerial surveillance and mapping is expected to reach $1.8 billion by 2019.
This year, it expects to report $1 billion in revenue for drone manufacturers.
Drone sales hit an all-time high in 2017, when the U.S. government announced it would grant $5 billion in tax incentives for the industry.
In 2018, drone sales grew more than 90% over last year.
But this year, drone makers have been hit by a wave of regulation and legislation in Washington and other parts of the world.
eMarketers surveyed drone buyers and owners in March 2018, and found that most respondents believe drones will be part of their daily lives in the coming years.
“While most respondents do not think drone usage will be as widespread as they expected in the near future, many do think it will be a big part of our lives by 2019,” the eMarkers survey said.
The report found that nearly half of respondents (48%) think drones will become more prevalent in the next 10 years, compared to 33% who think they will become less common.
eMeter’s survey also found that 44% of respondents say drones are more or less popular in their home, compared with 25% who say they are more likely to be a drone user.
eToys, accessories, and food packaging also are seen as popular, with almost half of consumers saying they would be willing to buy toys or accessories for their drones.
The survey also showed that consumers are more than willing to pay for a drone if it costs more than $250.
“The price of a drone may be high for some but the amount of value it provides to the customer and its community is extremely high,” eMarkets report said.
